Snapbacks are (for lack of a better word) back. What's a snapback? Well it's a baseball cap with a snap closure in the back. If you are over the age of 30, you probably remember these hats from back in the day, made popular by the The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeffy. Jazzy Jeff eventually became the spokesperson for the Starter Athletic company and their endless versions of the snap-back cap.
A mark of a vintage snap-back is the green, blue, or grey colored under-brim and plastic snap closure. Just as guys started collected vintage sports jerseys in the early 2000's, the snap-back revolution is all about collecting memorable hats with interesting colors and unique materials.
The big news in snap-backs this week is the snakeskin brim. Actually, it's python! These luxury hats have been made famous by rappers Kanye West, Jay-Z, and newcomer Big Sean. The python hats will be sold exclusively at online luxury retailer RSVP Gallery starting August 8, 2011.
