Shopping in Nashville is never a chore. We have so many small boutiques and major retailers that you can always find something for that event or occasion. But as much as I can give props to the cool places to shop, there are a couple stores that are missing. So, I administered a Twitter poll to see what my followers thought was missing from Nashville's shopping scene. Below are some of their answers.
Next up is Bloomingdale's. Now I was super happy that the Green Hills mall is getting a Nordstrom, but Bloomingdales is the pinnacle of shopping. It's right up there with Barney's and Saks. Bloomingdale's is known for their brown bag, extraordinary window dressings, and expansive store locations. Some would say that Nashville couldn't produce enough sales to keep Bloomingdales open, especially as Macy's is their parent company. However has two Bloomingdale's stores in addition to several Macy's stores and sales are probably pretty good.
Well, if we can't have one of the big boys, then let's get one of the smaller, trend stores. An overwhelming number of you requested we have an Aldo Shoes and Accessory store. Aldo reminds me of a better version of Nine West, with men's shoes, lower yet reasonable prices, and a great accessories area. The closet Aldo store is in Memphis but, that's not close enough.
Top Shop is popular clothing and apparel store that was begun in the basement of a department store in London. Now they have 100 stores internationally and 300 stores in the UK. The recently opened a store in Manhattan. Top Shop is on the the same line as H&M (pure friendly prices, on trend selection) but their difference is they bring British trends to consumers. And as much as we love the USA, fashionistas overseas are always several steps ahead of us in the fashion arena. Wouldn't be nice to bring Top Shop to the south!?
Now, I couldn't leave out my plus-size ladies! There are two stores that I frequent online, Torrid and Evans London. Torrid started started in 2001 as an on trend alternative for plus-size women. What I like about Torrid clothes is that they are cut for the fuller figure, not just bigger versions of regular size clothes. So Torrid clothes are more proportional. There are several Torrid locations in the US but the closet to us is Knoxville. Sad!
Evans London is an international plus-size retailer that has shoe, apparel, and accessories. I LOVE this store. They have the best selection of leggings, distressed denim, and graphic tees. Plus they sell limited quantities so you won't see you outfit on every plus size girl. And really, we need another alternative to Lane Bryant and The Avenue.

So what do you think? Take our handy poll to tell me what stores you'd add to Nashville. If your favorite store is not on the list, hit up the comments section to add your fave.

As much as I'd love to see a Topshop here in Nashville - it's too progressive and folks here won't pay those prices. (It's creative, it's cool, it's really forward, but Topshop ain't cheap. It's no H&M, price-wise.)
An H&M or Bloomies would be a nice fit for Music City.
Great site! Keep up the good work.
